PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in NARC’s 2022 season finale at The Stockton Dirt Track, Tanner Carrick tallied his 35th Top-10 finish of the season as he finished seventh in the final NARC feature event of the 2022 season.
“We had pretty good speed all night, but unfortunately we just missed out on a Dash berth by one spot and track position was huge all night,” Carrick said. “Passing was tough, but we were good enough to maintain with those guys and come away with another Top-10.”
Timing the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T entry in fourth fastest in qualifying time trials, Carrick lined up in the second row of his heat.
On a hooked up and fast racing surface, Carrick settled into fourth as the field settled in. Hanging on to fourth, Carrick’s point total put him in seventh and just one position out of a Dash berth which would be pivotal on the narrow track surface.
Gridding the field from the seventh starting position for the 25-lap NARC finale, Carrick would keep his machine well inside the Top-10 as the race settled into a near stop feature event.
Racing hard through traffic, Carrick found himself chasing after the likes of Ryan Timms and Shane Golobic as he looked for a way into the Top-5. Which passing continuing to be tough with most going the same speed, Carrick hung on to his Top-10 finish as he capped the night off with a seventh-place finish.
“We would have been really good if we could have moved around a little, but the conditions just didn’t allow for that,” Carrick said. “Happy with the speed we had in our 410ci, and excited to turn my attention to some midgets in the next few weeks.”
