Fifth Place Finish Highlights Fall Nationals Weekend for Tanner Carrick

PETERSEN MEDIA: Spending the weekend in Chico, CA for the Fall Nationals, Tanner Carrick battled for a fifth-place finish on Friday night before finishing 9th during Saturday night’s finale.
“We had a really good car both nights,” Tanner Carrick said. “We battled hard on Friday with some good cars and ran in the Top-Five, and on Saturday I made a mistake on the last lap of my heat that really hurt us with how the track was.”
Timing his CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T entry in second fastest in his qualifying flight on Saturday night, the Lincoln, CA driver just needed to transfer through his heat race to make the redraw, which he was able to do.
Finishing fifth in heat race competition, Carrick locked himself into the nightly redraw where the four put him in the second row of the 30-lap ‘A’.
On a very fast surface, Carrick slipped back to sixth at the start of the race, and then used a lap five restart to move into the Top-5.
Once into fifth, Carrick hooked up in a very entertaining battle with Justin Sanders and Chance Grasty as they jockeyed for third, fourth, and fifth. Despite the narrow conditions, the trio put on quite a show though Carrick ended up on the short end of the stick as he remained in fifth as the trio began to separate in dense traffic.
Staying firmly inside the Top-5, Carrick was able to hold his position in the final laps and score a fifth-place finish to wrap up the Fall Nationals opener.
Returning to action at Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday night for one final event at the track in 2026, Carrick again got off to a hot start as he timed in third fastest in time trials.
Heading into his heat race, Carrick found himself in the second position, but a miscue on the race’s final lap saw him hang his right-rear over the edge of the speedway and slip back to finish fourth.
With the fourth-place finish, Carrick was mired deep in the field for the feature as he lined up 12th and picked up a couple of spots during the 35-lapper to finish inside the Top-10 with a ninth-place finish.
“I really want to thank Clark and the guys for a great car all weekend,” Carrick said. “I hate that I made that mistake in our heat race because every spot counted with how the surface ended up for the ‘A’.”
Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, D.R. Horton, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Hanson Truss, TC Guide Service, Eddie’s Lincoln Auto Body, Simpson Strong-Tie, A&A Concrete Supply, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support.
BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 55, Wins: 1, Top 5’s: 14, Top 10’s: 32
ON TAP: Tanner Carrick will be idle this coming weekend and is then slated to return to action when NARC invades Placerville Speedway on October 10th.
