PETERSEN MEDIA: Tanner Carrick and his Carrick Motorsports team had a busy weekend in Tulare, CA. Taking part in two World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Series events, Carrick would also take part in Saturday’s Kings of Thunder 360ci race where he would pick up a Top-10 finish.

“To make our first two 410ci starts of the year against the Outlaws at a track that I don’t have a ton of laps at was obviously a little challenging, but I was happy to make the show both nights,” Carrick said. “Our 360ci car was strong on Saturday night, but I made a mistake in time trials that put us in a hole in that feature.”

Friday night, Carrick opened his weekend up by taking on 31 of the world’s best drivers as the Outlaws invaded Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, CA for the first time since 2019.

Timing the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T machine in 15th in time trials, the Lincoln, CA driver would line up in the second row of the third heat race. With the track still a touch narrow in heat race competition, Carrick would maintain his starting position as he settled in third.

Despite feeling pressure from Outlaw regular, Brock Zearfoss, Carrick would finish third and punch his ticket into the 35-lap feature event where he would take the green flag from the 11th starting position before slipping back to a 21st place finish.

Saturday night brought on a much busier night for the team, as they would bring a second car out for Carrick to do double-duty and compete with the Kings of Thunder 360ci series.

In 360ci action, Carrick would make a minor misstep in time trials, and it resulted in him timing in 13th fastest in the 24 car field. Lining up fifth in the night’s first heat race, Carrick would finish fifth and it would place him 17th on the starting grid for the 25-lap ‘A’ Main.

With the track wider and racier for the feature event, Carrick would have his elbows up as he quickly began working his way towards the Top-10. Jumping into 14th by the race’s second lap, Carrick would make his way into 12th just prior to the race’s halfway point.

Stalling out for a handful of laps in 12th, Carrick would jump into 10th on the 18th circuit. With time running out quickly, Carrick would make a couple of more moves as he worked his way into eighth on the 22nd lap, where he would ultimately finish.

In World of Outlaws action on Saturday night, Carrick would continue to show speed with his 410ci powerplant as he timed the Conti, Harris, and Sloan/Eddie’s Lincoln Auto Body backed entry in 11th fastest in time trials.

Hanging on to the fifth and final transfer position in his heat race, Carrick would transfer to the final ‘A’ of the weekend and take the green flag from the 19th starting position before capping his weekend off with a 21st place finish.

“It was good to get laps in against the Outlaws, and I am looking forward to another challenging weekend with them coming up,” Carrick said. “In 360ci action, I think we had a better car than where we ended up, but it all comes back to that qualifying miscue.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Eddie’s Lincoln Auto Body, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 8, Wins: 1, Top 5’s: 3, Top 10’s: 5
