Tanner Carrick Back on Marysville Raceway Podium

PETERSEN MEDIA: With Marysville Raceway able to run the most consistent schedule in Northern California in 2020, Tanner Carrick adapted well as he picked up another strong finish at the speedway on Wednesday night by way of a third-place run.

“It was another good night for our race team at Marysville Raceway,” Tanner Carrick said. “We had a fast car all night and came home with a strong finish.”

With 30 cars packed into the Marysville Raceway pit area, Carrick would get his night off to a strong start as he timed the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T entry in eighth fastest in time trials.

Finding himself in the second row of his heat race, it would be imperative that the Lincoln, CA driver win his heat race if he wanted to earn a spot into the nightly redraw.

Having a strong run in his heat, Carrick would indeed take care of business as he raced his way to the win and then pulled the three pill in the redraw,

On the hooked-up Marysville Raceway surface that greeted the field on this night, Carrick would work the bottom of the speedway in the early goings of the feature as he ran in third and chased after the likes of Michael Wasina, and Colby Copeland.

An early restart saw the top five all checkup as the two leaders collided. Making a couple of evasive moves to avoid the fray, Carrick came out of turn two still in the third position as the green lights stayed on.

Chasing after new leader Ryan Robinson and Andy Forsberg, Carrick would try numerous times to get by the duo but the narrow surface made passing extremely difficult.

Able to keep his machine on the podium, Carrick closed the night out with a third-place finish.

“That restart wreck happened right in front of me, and I had very little time to react to avoid it,” he said. “If we could get through that a little better, we have a better shot to win, but still another great night for us.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 23, Wins: 2, Top 5’s: 12, Top 10’s: 18
