Tanner Carrick 5th at ‘The Louie’

PETERSEN MEDIA: Enduring a mechanical failure during Saturday’s opening night of the Louie Vermeil Classic, Tanner Carrick and the Carrick Motorsports team had a strong Sunday night that included a fifth-place finish in the feature event.

“Unfortunately, we have had some issues on Saturday night that ended our night in heat race action, but the guys worked hard, and we had a really good Sunday night,” Tanner Carrick said.

Sunday night, Carrick got his night off toa great start as he timed the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T machine in second fastest in qualifying time trials. Battling some throttle gremlins in his heat race, Carrick would lose a spot and finish fifth, though it would still lock him into the 30-lap Louie Vermeil Classic feature event.

Lining up 10th in the ‘A’, a re-worked Silver Dollar Speedway surface provided a ton of action with passing taking place at both ends of the speedway. From the fifth row, Carrick was able to get his Clark Riolo prepared entry rolling towards the front.

Making some big moves as he battled with the likes of Tim Kaeding, and Shane Golobic, the Lincoln, CA driver would work his way up into the Top-5 when the race came to a close.

“We had a little throttle issue that hurt us in the heat race, but we were still able to transfer which was crucial,” Carrick said. “I am feeling really good in our 410ci as of late, and am looking forward to the Gold Cup.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Kaeding Performance, and Arai for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 49, Wins: 6, Top 5’s: 23, Top 10’s: 30

ON TAP: Carrick is set to return to action this Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night in Chico, CA during the 67th Gold Cup Race of Champions.
