Carrick Caps Nor*Cal Posse Shootout with 10th Place Run

PETERSEN MEDIA: Taking part in the Nor*Cal Posse Shootout at Placerville Speedway over the weekend, Tanner Carrick would finish 17th on Friday night before a good Saturday night capped his weekend off with a 10th place finish.

“Friday night was a little rough for us, but Saturday we were really good,” Carrick said. “We got shoved up on the initial start and lost some spots but I was able to get those back, until we got stuck on the bottom on a late restart and fell back again.”

Following a 17th place finish during the opening night of action on Friday night, Carrick came out on Saturday night and timed the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T machine in third quickest in his time trial group before finishing third in his heat race.

Just sneaking into the Dash, Carrick would finish fifth and line his machine up in the third row for the 40-lap Nor*Cal Posse Shootout feature event. When the green flag dropped Carrick would endure some contact to the rear of his car that pushed him out of shape and he fell back to 10th from the get-go.

With a very good car underneath him, the Lincoln, CA product would work his way back forward picking up his lost positions. Getting back up to seventh at one point, a restart would see him get trapped on the bottom groove and again lose a couple of positions.

Battling with younger brother, Blake in the later stages of the race, Carrick would take the final checkered flag of the weekend with a 10th place finish.

“I think we could have battled inside the Top-5 if we didn’t lose so many spots on the start,” Carrick said. “We were fast all Saturday night, and I have to thank the guys for working so hard on both of our cars all weekend.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, Timberworks Construction, Arai, and Spike Chassis for their support.

2019 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts: 14, Wins: 1, Top 5’s: 1, Top 10’s: 5

ON TAP: Carrick will reunite with Keith Kunz Motorsports this Saturday night as they are set for a night of racing at Eldora Speedway.
