Returning home after a couple of Midget Speedweek’s in the Midwest, Tanner Carrick checked in at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night and worked hard to pocket a Top-10 finish.
“It was nice to get home and get back in the sprint car in Placerville, CA,” Tanner Carrick said. “We had some issues early in the night kind of set us back, but the guys worked really hard and we salvaged a Top-10 out of it.”
Rolling out for hot laps, brake issues would force Tanner Carrick back to his trailer as his team thrashed before time trials. Timing in with a brake issue still plaguing him, the Lincoln, CA pilot just narrowly missed the heat race inversion as he wound up 17th quickest.
Getting the issues somewhat resolved for his heat race, Carrick would start and finish fifth, which forced him into the ‘B’, which wasn’t all bad as it allowed him and his team to get their car dialed in prior to the feature.
Picking up the win in the semi, Carrick noted that everything felt really good heading into the feature event where he would roll off the starting grid from the 14th position.
With the track heavy in the opening laps following a pre race touch up, Carrick would get sporty as the laps clicked off with very few stoppages. Working his way into the Top-10, Carrick would close his night out with a 10th place finish at the high banked ¼ mile speedway.
“We fought issues, and got better and better as the night went on,” Carrick added. “Thanks to everyone who worked so hard all night long for me.”
