Tanner Carrick Fits Weekend of Sprint Car Racing In Before Busy Midget Stretch

Working another weekend of sprint car racing into his scheduled in his native California before a big stretch of midget racing, Tanner Carrick would finish sixth at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA on Friday night before a up and down battle in Marysville, CA saw him finish 11th.

“Our schedule is extremely busy this year, so it is nice to get in our sprint car when ever we have an open weekend,” Tanner Carrick said.

Competing in the 410ci point race on Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA, Carrick would time in seventh quickest, before picking up a seventh place finish in his heat race.

With a light car count on hand, the youngster would advance to the feature event where he lined the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed No. 83T entry up in the fourth row of the 25-lap affair.

The feature event would go non-stop, which would give Carrick a chance to reel of rare laps aboard his 410ci winged sprint car. As the track continued to slick off lap by lap, Carrck would acclimate well as he was able to finish sixth.

Bolting the 360ci power plant into his machine for Saturday night action, Carrick would time in eighth quickest amongst the 26 cars that were checked into the pit area.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Lincoln, CA native would pick up a third place finish which would again send him directly into the feature event.

With a big car count on hand across the board on Saturday night, the surface would again slick off for the 25-lap feature event.

Lining up in the sixth row, Carrick would get involved in some tight knit racing on the ¼ mile facility. Falling back as far as the 14th spot at one point during the race, Carrick would race his way inside the Top-10 as he would get up to the eighth spot during the action packed race.

Continuing to battle with some veteran winged 360 drivers, Carrick would fall back a little in the closing laps as he ended up taking the checkered flag with an 11th place finish.

“Overall it was a good weekend, and good to get a lot of laps in the sprint car,” Carrick noted. “We have a busy stretch coming up with Keith Kunz Motorsports so, hopefully we can get back out with those guys and continue to run well.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, and Timberworks Construction for their support.

ON TAP: Tanner Carrick will meet back up with the Keith Kunz Motorsports team as they will be in action this week in Farburry, NE, Beloit, KS, and Friday and Saturday in Belleville, KS.
