Tanner Carrick Races Way Into Placerville SCCT Feature Before Third Place Run at Showcase Tune Up

PETERSEN MEDIA: Continuing to race in his native California, Tanner Carrick raced through the B main on Friday night in Placerville, CA to transfer into the Sprint Car Challenge Tour A main before picking up a third place finish on Saturday night at Cycleland Speedway during a tune-up race for next week’s Outlaw Kart Showcase.

“Friday night there were some positives in the sprint car, and on Saturday night we ran really well in the Outlaw Kart,” Tanner Carrick explained.

Checking in at Placerville Speedway on Friday night with the Tanner Carrick Racing No. 83T machine to race with the new Sprint Car Challenge Tour, Carrick would time the CVC/Cemex/Interstate Oil backed sprinter in seventh fastest in his qualifying group.

Lining up in the fourth row of his heat race, the Lincoln, CA driver would move into the sixth position when the race got underway as he chased after former track champion, Greg DeCaires. Finishing sixth in his heat, Carrick would take the Conti, Harris, & Sloan/Emerald/Timberworks Construction machine into the semi, where he would have 15-laps to get into the 40-lap feature event.

Taking the green flag from the 10th starting position, Carrick had his work cut out for him in a stacked semi. On the slick surface, he would go to work and make up ground early in the race. Racing two and three wide with some of the regions top winged Sprint Car pilots, Carrick would get into the sixth and final transfer position and successfully transfer into the feature.

As the track continue to slick off as the night went on, Carrick would grid the field from the 22nd starting position. Working around the extremely slick surface, Carrick focused on hitting his marks and getting better down low as he would end up finishing 21st on this night.

Planning on going to Stockton on Saturday night, Carrick opted to head up to Cycleland Speedway near Chico, CA to get one night of Kart racing in before next week’s big Outlaw Kart Showcase.

Having a very good night in the Kart, where he began his driving career, Carrick never seemed to skip a beat as he got his night started by timing in third quickest in qualifications.

Moving into the Dash, Carrick would continue to run up front where he would finish in the second position.

In the feature event, Carrick continue to have a very strong night as he flexed his muscle and put the rest of the field on notice for the Showcase. Keeping his machine in the mix all night, Carrick would take the checkered flag with a third place finish.

“It has been a fun couple of weeks back in the Sprint Car and Kart,” Carrick noted. “Looking forward to getting back in the Keith Kunz Motorsports Midget and running the Louie Vermeil Classic this weekend.”

Tanner Carrick would like to thank CVC, Cemex, Interstate Oil, Conti, Harris and Sloan, Emerald, and Timberworks Construction for their support.
