Weekend Tough on Tanner Carrick
Running the Jason Leffler Memorial and The Harvest Cup over the weekend, Tanner Carrick would have a rough weekend as a wreck on Thursday, and mechanical issues on Saturday night slowed him down.
“It was quite the week,” Tanner Carrick said. “We were pretty good at the Leffler and moved through the field, but contact with 10-to-go put us in the fence. Saturday the engine kept dying on me and that made things tough.”
Checking in at Wayne County Speedway on Thursday for the Leffler Memorial, Carrick would pick up a second place finish in his heat race. Finishing fourth in a qualifier, the Lincoln, CA driver moved into the feature where he rolled off the starting grid from the fourth row.
Off to a quick start, Carrick would keep pace with the field as he moved into the Top-Five. Getting into fourth with ten to go, contact would send Carrick into the wall and he would give up his track position. On this night, Carrick would end his night in the 17th.
Saturday night the scene sifted to Tri State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN. Timing his Keith Kunz entry 14thf astest. Running fourth fastest in his heat race, Carrick moved to the feature event where he would start back in the 14th starting position.
Battling an engine that kept cutting off on him, Carrick would have a tough go on Saturday night. Doing what he could in the action packed feature, Carrick would end up finishing 17th.
“Thanks to the guys for working so hard on Saturday,” Carrick said. “They’ll go to work, and we will be good to go this weekend.”
Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team would like to thank Craftsman, CVC, TRD, Spike Chassis, Cemex, Arai, and Shell Shock for their support.
