Tanner Carrick 9th at Lucas Oil Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to one of his favorite tracks on Saturday night, Tanner Carrick would have a roller coaster night at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO that culminated with a ninth place finish.

“It was an okay night,’ Tanner Carrick said. “We had some serious speed in our car, we just started deep in our heat race on a narrow track, and got collected with some contact early in the feature.”

Lining the Craftsman/CVC/TRD backed entry up seventh in heat race action, the Lincoln, CA driver had his elbows up on a tricky surface that did not allow for much passing. Getting what he could, Carrick would pick up a fifth place finish and move into the feature event.

Finding himself in the seventh row to start the feature event, Carrick would be shot out of a cannon once the green flag waived as he jumped up into the Top-10 and got into eighth in the race’s first two laps.

Lap two however, a car would come down and make contact with Carrick and it would result in a flat tire, forcing him to make a trip to the work area and find a spot at the back of the pack.

Get back underway from the back, Carrick would continue to flex his muscle as he worked around ‘The Diamond of Dirt Tracks’. Slicing and dicing through traffic, Carrick would make his way back into the Top-10 in the race’s final circuits. Getting up into sixth, Carrick would bicycle his machine with just a few laps left in the race and he would fall back to ninth where he would go on to finish.

“If we didn’t have that contact early in the race, I really feel like we had a car that could have contended for the win,” Tanner Carrick noted. “We had a super fast car, and I have to thank all the guys at KKM for their hard work.”

Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team would like to thank Craftsman, CVC, TRD, Spike Chassis, Cemex, Arai, and Shell Shock for their support.

2019 BY THE NUMBERS- Starts-12, Wins-0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-4
