Carrick Corrals Four Pack of Top-10’s During PA Midget Week

PETERSEN MEDIA: Traveling to the Keystone State for a week of racing with his Keith Kunz Motorsports team, Tanner Carrick would pick up four Top-10 finishes that was highlighted by a third place run at Grandview Speedway.

“It was another week where the entire team really had to grind,” Carrick said. “Our week got off to a great start, and then I kind of struggled qualifying and it would force us to dig out of a hole each night it seemed like.”

Getting the week kicked off at Grandview Speedway back on July 30th, Carrick would time in seventh quickest before recording a sixth place finish in his heat race.

Battling hard up front Carrick would continue his hot streak with USAC as he was back on the podium by way of a third place finish.

Heading to Kutztown, PA the following night, Action Track USA would be invaded by the USAC National Midgets. After timing in 10th quickest in qualifications, Carrick’s 4th place finish in his heat race moved him into the feature event.

On the tight confines of Action Track USA, Carrick really wasn’t able to move through the field as he had hoped as he would finish 11th on this night, which would mark his lone finish outside of the Top-10.

Thursday night the series traveled to Path Valley Speedway for the third installment of PA Midget Week. Timing in eighth quickest in time trials, a heat race win moved the Lincoln, CA driver into the ‘A’ where he would take the green flag from the fourth row on this night.

With passing proving to be tough on this night, Carrick would hold the status quo as he accepted the checkered flag in that same eighth position.

Friday night at Linda’s Speedway, a 14th quick effort in time trials would again lead Carrick to a win in heat race competition.

Taking the green flag back in the 13th starting position, Carrick would get his elbows up as he worked his way through the field. Jumping inside the Top-10, Carrick would get to eighth where he would ultimately close his night out.

The busy week came to a close on Saturday night at Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway. Timing the Craftsman/CVC/TRD backed entry in seventh quickest in time trials, a seventh place finish placed Carrick seventh on the starting grid in the feature.

Not having the night he was looking for to cap his week, Carrick would still battle hard inside the Top-10 during the duration of the 40-lap finale. Keeping himself inside the Top-10, Carrick capped PA Midget Week with a 9th place finish.

“We had really good speed, qualifying outside of the inversion is really tough against this field of cars,’ Carrick added. “Thanks to all of these guys for all of their hard work.”

Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team would like to thank Craftsman, CVC, TRD, Spike Chassis, Cemex, Arai, and Shell Shock for their support.
