Tanner Carrick Charges to Top Five Finish at Four-Crown Nationals

Following the USAC National Midget Series to Eldora Speedway on Saturday night to take part in the prestigious Four-Crown Nationals, Tanner Carrick would put together a hard charge that saw him advance from the 12th starting spot to finish fifth.

“I had a blast on Saturday night at Eldora Speedway,’ Tanner Carrick said. “My guys gave me a really good car, and moving forward like we did on the big ½ mile was a lot of fun.”

Timing the CVC/TRD/Spike Chassis backed entry in 13th quickest in qualifying time trials, the Lincoln, CA driver would showcase a sporty car in heat race action as he drove to a second place finish in heat race action.

On the slick Eldora Speedway, lining up in the 12th starting position was no problem for the 2017 series Rookie of the Year. Working around the tricky ½ mile like a seasoned veteran Carrick quickly jumped inside the Top-10 as he climbed his way up the ladder getting stronger with every lap.

Slicing and dicing with his Keith Kunz Motorsports teammate, Logan Seavey, Holly Shelton, and Ryan Robinson, Carrick would continue driver forward as he found himself up inside the Top-Five in the races closing laps.

Chasing after Kevin Thomas, Jr for the fourth position, Carrick would be unable to get around his competitor as he capped his night off with a very strong run from 12th to fifth.

“Keith, Pete, and everyone on this team works extremely hard to give us all fast cars,” Carrick added. “I have to thank them all for their effort. It’s pretty cool to get a Top-Five at such an historic place.”

Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team would like to thank CVC, TRD, Spike Chassis, Cemex, Arai, and Shell Shock for their support.
