Tanner Carrick Picks up Top-10 in Jacksonville, IL

Traveling to Jacksonville, IL for a two-day tilt with the Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League, Tanner Carrick would score a 13th place finish on Friday night before coming away with a 10th place finish on Saturday night.

“It was a good weekend,” Tanner Carrick said. “The track was a lot of fun, and I felt like I made good laps all weekend so we came away with a lot of positives.”

Getting the two-day program underway on Friday night, Carrick would open the weekend up by lining up in the second row of his heat race based on his draw. Battling with teammate, Ryan Robinson, Carrick would finish fourth which was good enough to move him directly into the feature event.

Lining up in the 13th starting position in the ‘A’, the Lincoln, CA driver would search all around the bullring aboard his TRD/Curb Records/IPC backed No. 71K, as he raced with Ace McCarthy, and Jason McDougal.

Finding himself in a multi-car battle for the 10th spot, Carrick would continue to move around to try and get the best of the pack of cars. When the checkered flag was shown to the field, Carrick would officially be scored in the 13th position.

Saturday night’s draw would see Carrick line the Walker Performance Filtration/Spike Chassis/CVC backed entry up in the third row of his heat race. Gaining valuable points from the third row, Carrick would pick up two positions as he finished third and moved into the feature event.

Taking the green flag from the fifth row, Carrick would again find himself in an entertaining battle for 10th as he raced with Austin Brown and fellow KKM driver, Holly Shelton.

Keeping his machine inside the Top-10 all night long, Carrick would continue to run well as traffic would get exciting on the small confines. In the end, Carrick was able to finish inside the Top-10 as he closed his weekend with a 10th place finish.

“I have to thank everyone involved with this KKM team for all of their hard work,” Carrick said. “Keith and Pete do a lot for me, and I truly appreciate their efforts.”

Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team would like to thank TRD, Curb Records, IPC, Walker Performance Filtration, Cemex, CVC, and Shell Shock for their support.

ON TAP: Carrick and the KKM team will be back in action Friday night in Wayne City, IL.
