- Checking into Eldora Speedway on Saturday night for the Four Crown Nationals, Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team would have a strong night that saw the California driver tally an eighth place finish.
“Eldora is a cool track, and it is nice to run well there,” Tanner Carrick said. “It was a good night, and I have to thank the Kunz Motorsports team for everything they do.”
Finishing seventh in his heat race aboard the TRD/Curb Records/IPC backed No. 71K entry, Carrick would move into the 25-lap feature event where he would take the green flag from the sixth row.
On the very slick ½ mile speedway, Carrick did a nice job of moving forward from the 11th position. Working into the 10th spot when things got underway, Carrick would take advantage of a couple of opportunities as he worked into the eighth spot just past the race’s halfway point.
Battling with Tyler Thomas and Chad Boat for track position during the second half of the race, Carrick would take the checkered flag with an eighth place finish at Four Crown Nationals.
“It was a good finish for our race team, and we will continue to try and make strides and get even better in the final couple months of the season,” Carrick said. “Again I really want to thank everyone at KKM for all they do.”
Prior to competing at Eldora, Carrick climbed board his family owned sprint car and did some non winged racing at Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA.
With 20 cars checked into the pit area, Carrick was able to lay down a very nice lap during time trials as he timed the CVC/Cemex backed No. 83T machine in eighth quick in qualifying time trials.
Running second in heat race action, Carrick would grid the field from the ninth starting position for the 25-lap feature event.
Spending much of his night running inside the Top-10, Carrick would get as high as eighth by the sixth lap.
When action going on all around the ¼ mile bullring, Carrick would then find himself battling hard between 10th and 12th as the laps wound down. With the white flag in the air, Carrick would take over the 11th spot for good and went on to record an 11th place finish.
Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team would like to thank TRD, Curb Records, IPC, Walker Performance Filtration, Cemex, CVC, and Shell Shock for their support.
