Tanner Carrick Records Two Top-Five Finishes in First Trip to Williams Grove Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Quickly after the dust settled on Indiana Midget Week, Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team headed east to compete at the Williams Grove Speedway on Thursday and Friday night where Carrick would put together two great showings that saw him finish fifth on Thursday and second on Friday at the historic half mile.

“It was an awesome first trip to Williams Grove Speedway,” Tanner Carrick said. “I can’t thank the KKM team enough for giving me a car to run up front both nights.”

Thursday night in Mechanicsburg, PA, Carrick got the night started off by finishing fourth in his heat race aboard the potent TRD/Curb Records/IPC backed No. 71k machine.

Moving into the 20-lap feature event, Carrick would find himself taking the green flag from the fifth starting position. The ½ mile paper clip shaped facility in the heart of Pennsylvania would prove to be a little tough to make ground up once the field got strung out.

The Lincoln, CA product would lose a few spots early on the tricky race track as eh would fall back to the eighth spot at one time before he would get going. Battling with KKM teammate Holly Shelton and Tanner Thorson at times, Carrick would do a nice job of securing a Top-Five as he took the checkered flag in the fifth spot.

Friday night saw Carrick and the KKM team return to Williams Grove Speedway where he would again show great speed on the famous ½ mile facility.

Lining up in the eighth starting position in his heat race, Carrick would have his elbows up as he carved his way forward. Able to make up major ground, Carrick would finish in the second position and find himself on the pole of the feature event.

Getting the jump when the feature came to life, Carrick would lead the first lap before Brady Bacon was able to get by him and drop him into second.

Back in second, Carrick would battle with KKM teammates Spencer Bayston and Tanner Thorson, but was bale to keep them at bay as he held down the second spot.

Impressive on the daunting track, Carrick brought his stay in the heart of PA Posse country home with a second place finish.

“Our team worked hard and we all ran well,” Carrick added. “It was different than what we had been on the last few weeks, but it was a lot of fun.”

Tanner Carrick and the Keith Kunz Motorsports team would like to thank TRD, Curb Records, IPC, Cemex, CVC, and Shell Shock for their support.

ON TAP: Tanner Carrick and the KKM team will take this weekend off as Carrick will run an Outlaw Kart in his native California.
